Muncie Imports & Classics / O.S.J.I Muncie Imports and Classics has been doing business in Muncie, IN since the early 1970’s, previously known as G.W. Bartlett Co. Muncie Imports and Classics was formed in 1988 to assist in the expansion of Jaguar Interior Manufacturing and Restoration. Muncie Imports and Classics is a full service facility comprised of 3 different divisions in several buildings, these include (Mechanical, Paint and Body, Upholstery and Manufacturing i.e. (O.S.J.I). Our Upholstery division is formally known as (O.S.J.I) i.e. Original Specification Jaguar Interiors where we take materials at their barest forms such as: leather hides, vinyl rolls, etc. and make new interiors to original specifications. With these divisions working together daily our customers receive the best when it comes to Jaguar and Classic Car Repair and Restorations. Muncie Imports and Classics is also one of the longest established Bosch Service Centers in the United States, where we service and repair Late Model / European Imports providing our customers with a place “where Quality cars get Quality care.”
Restoration Technician Job Descriptions Qualified individuals will be responsible for restoring classic vehicles to their original appearance or mechanical function depending on department they are located in. Muncie Imports departments and positions consist of:
MechanicalDivision- Mechanical Technician duties include but not limited to: Disassembling, Repairing, and reassembling components of various vehicles from top to bottom i.e.: engine, suspension, braking, electrical components, etc.
Upholstery Division- Upholstery Technician duties include but not limited to: making and installing headliners, sewing and cutting to make interior sets, installing full interior sets, reupholstering seats from their bare metal state with interiors that are made in house, making/installing new carpeting and performing convertible top installations
Paint and Body Division- Paint and Body technicians’ duties include but not limited to: fabrication, metal working, sanding and other techniques to insure vehicle is back to original state, undercoating, painting at a show quality level and disassembling/ reassembling vehicles.
